Greetings from hot, happy Ghana!

As some of you know this is our first volunteer programme on one of our projects and so far things are going great!

We are building a new school for the children of Yasufiya who are in desperate need of a building.

Its hot, dirty, back breaking work but the volunteers are amazed at the whole experience.

The building has become a bit of a spectator sport too with all the kids watching shouting ‘obroni’, (white person!) while we are working. We are working closely with local people and teachers and everyone is very happy to be involved in the project.

Our down time is playing football with the kids (thirty or forty a-side is difficult!) and generally getting mobbed everywhere we go – fantastic! We have also been on the radio promoting the work of SAFE and also getting lots of local support for the project.
