Location: South Wales

Salary: 22,000 Pro Rata

Contract: 37.5 hours a week. Full-time until June 2027 (Job share options available on application)

Job Overview: A dynamic role coordinating and delivering training to young people (aged 16+) exploring global issues and increasing confidence, empathy and employability through workshops, volunteering and activities across South Wales.

Job Description: Global Citizenship In Action Trainer

The SAFE Foundation is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and inspiring individual to develop and deliver training programs that promote global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. As a trainer, you will be responsible for creating training materials, facilitating training sessions, and evaluating training outcomes. You will work with a growing list of guest speakers and skills workshop facilitators to bring global education topics out of the classroom and into the community.

Responsibilities:

– Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and multimedia content, that reflect the ethos of empowering young people to find their place in a global community

– Deliver training sessions that are engaging, and interactive, and promote active participation

– Adapt training materials to meet the needs of diverse audiences and cultural contexts, while ensuring that the ethos of empowering young people is maintained

– Liaise with guest speakers/workshop facilitators, booking them in for training sessions and ensuring the content of the session aligns with SAFE’s ethos and the program outcomes

– Incorporate best practices and participatory training methods, while also incorporating the latest techniques in youth engagement and empowerment

– Evaluate training outcomes and make recommendations for improvement, with a focus on how to help young people move on to their next steps after completing the rolling training program

– Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders, who share the ethos of empowering young people and are committed to promoting global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability

– Stay up-to-date with developments in global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability, with a focus on how these issues affect young people

– Conduct preparatory visits to new partner organisations to build relationships and gather sign ups for the program

– Engage young people in the design and delivery of the workshops

– Passionate about promoting global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on empowering young people to find their worth, purpose, and direction

– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders, with a focus on young people from marginalized communities

– Proven experience in training and facilitation, with a focus on youth empowerment and engagement

– Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to connect with young people and inspire them to take action

– Strong knowledge of global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability issues, and how they relate to young people

– Ability to design effective training materials and deliver engaging training sessions, with a focus on youth empowerment and engagement

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to the ethos of empowering young people to find their worth, purpose, and direction

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on how to help young people move on to their next steps after completing the rolling training program

– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, international development, environmental studies)

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training design software.

– Strong knowledge of global citizenship, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability issues, and how they relate to young people

– Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders, with a focus on young people from marginalized communities

– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to connect with young people and inspire them to take an active role in their community 

– Proven ability to develop effective training materials and deliver engaging training sessions, with a focus on youth empowerment and engagement

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to the ethos of empowering young people to develop their self-worth, purpose, and direction

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office

– Full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle

– Ability to speak Welsh is desirable
