TAITH Funding Success!

Empowering Youth through International Exchange: SAFE Foundation Receives TAITH Funding for Project in Tamil Nadu

Exciting news is on the horizon for the SAFE Foundation, as we proudly announce that we’ve been granted funding from the Welsh Government’s TAITH programme. This funding will enable us to embark on a transformative journey with ten young individuals to our project site in Mugaiyur, Tamil Nadu, during the summer of 2024.

At the heart of this initiative lies a commitment to fostering learning, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. Our collaboration with the Welsh Government’s TAITH programme aligns seamlessly with our mission to empower communities and youth worldwide.

The essence of this project extends beyond mere geographical borders; it represents an opportunity for young minds to immerse themselves in a rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and experiences. Through this exchange, participants will not only gain invaluable insights into the vibrant culture of Tamil Nadu but also develop a deeper understanding of global issues and the interconnectedness of our world.

Central to our endeavours in Mugaiyur will be our partnership with the Weaker Community Development Trust (WDCT), our partners on the ground in India. Together, we will engage in a range of activities aimed at fostering sustainability and community empowerment. One of the highlights of our project will be the creation of cook bags and sun cookers in collaboration with the local community. These initiatives not only promote eco-friendly cooking practices but also empower individuals to harness renewable energy sources for everyday use.

Through hands-on involvement in these projects, participants will gain practical skills, cultivate cross-cultural understanding, and forge lasting connections with the community in Mugaiyur. Moreover, this exchange will serve as a catalyst for personal growth, as participants step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges with open minds and hearts.

By nurturing a global perspective and a spirit of collaboration, we aim to inspire a new generation of leaders who are committed to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.

As we eagerly anticipate the journey ahead, we want to the Welsh Government’s TAITH programme for their generous support. Together, we are embarking on a journey of discovery, empowerment, and solidarity, laying the groundwork for a brighter and more sustainable future for all.

Stay tuned as we share updates and stories from our adventure in Tamil Nadu, celebrating the power of international exchange and the boundless potential of youth to shape a better world.

We will be starting to recruit participants for this exchange in March 2024, so stay tuned for more details!
