About

The SAFE Foundation was founded in 2005 to assist in the provision of grants of money and materials that could contribute to poverty relief in developing countries. As founder, Lucy Dickenson felt it was important to establish a new organisation, rather than assisting others, as her own experiences living and working in Uganda, Rwanda, Mongolia and elsewhere showed that remote or small projects were often unable to access mainstream aid or that the aid they were often offered was conditional. The SAFE Foundation was established in response to the needs of these particular projects and have since expanded to accept proposals from other developing projects experiencing the same problems

The SAFE Foundation was registered as a charity in 2006, and as a company in 2008. For the last two years a team of six trustees have been working hard to raise awareness and funds to facilitate the sustainability of the projects we assist overseas.
